It gives you the opportunity to only worry about your own half
of the team.

What to expect
I LOOK FORWARD TO YOU JOINING ME FOR A COMMON SENSE AND
"PAWSITIVELY" FUN APPROACH TO DOG TRAINING!
What to bring
Be prepared for the inevitable! You need to bring baggies for feces removal
in the event your dog has relieved itself at the training facility!
Always bring plenty of fresh drinking water for your companion, & yourself!
You may want to bring a notebook for notes, & whatever training aids you may need.
And don't forget the treats!!!
Some off the field tips....
There is so much you can do with your dog to improve its agility
performance even when you don't have access to equipment.
I used 2 make-shift jumps and PVC over re-bar for weaves. My dogs did fine because I spent time on my
foundation away from the equipment - the three main behaviors that effect your agility performance:
stay no matter what
walk with me no matter what
and, come no matter what
I taught tricks and kept my dogs' brains nimble with tracking (scent work)
and upper level obedience training (hand signals, directed retrieve -
gloves, fronts, finishes, drop on recall, etc.)
Then there is shadow handling (done without equipment) to practice your
handling and transitions and the dog's response to same.
I cannot over emphasize how much you can accomplish away from the agility
field. Please don't forget that. Also, as someone once told me a
long, long time ago (and I didn't believe them till I tried it), the dogs
really do benefit from a vacation every now and then.
